Overview
The ET112 is a highly accurate single-phase transducer from the Italian manufacturer Carlo Gavazzi.
It is suitable for active energy metering and for cost allocation in applications up to 100 A (with a direct connection), with support for dual tariff management.
The device measures active and reactive energy, summing (easy connection mode on) or separating imported energy from exported energy.
It can measure imported and exported energy or be programmed to consider only the imported one.
A run-hour meter is available to link the energy to the relevant working hours.
Application
We highly recommend using the Carlo Gavazzi ET112 for use with Victron-based photovoltaic systems.
The device is fully supported out-of-the-box by VenusOS, the operating system running on Victron GX devices, such as the Cerbo GX and Cerbo-S GX
It can be connected using the RS485 to USB interface, or Zigbee to USB and Zigbee to RS485 converter.
The ET112 supports RS485 Modbus communication using the screw terminals on the front panel (please refer to the user manual for the correct configuration when using the RS485 to USB interface).
It features dual RJ45 connectors, which also support Modbus, however they should not be used with Victron equipment.
The energy meter also supports optical infrared communication, which can be used by coupling the device with the Carlo Gavazzi OptoProg optical interface.
Design and mounting
The Carlo Gavazzi ET112 is designed for indoor use (IP20 protection rating) in standard electrical panels with a DIN rail, and measures two DIN modules in width.
The operational temperature range of the meter is -25 to +65 °C, and the maximum (non-condensing) humidity is 90% at 40 °C.
It supports cables with a cross section from 5 to 25 mm², with or without ferrules, the screw terminals for communication support cables with a cross section of 1.5 mm².
For more information on mounting, wiring and torque specs for the screw terminals, please refer to the manual.
Accuracy
Active energy: Class 1 (EN62053-21)
Reactive energy: Class 2 (EN62053-23)
The measurement accuracy is ±0.5% RDG (V, A)
For more information, please refer to the technical documentation and manuals for the device, which can be found on this webpage.
No, you should use a dedicated three-phase meter such as the ET340 or EM530 ...
